Government Funded 2yr Old Scheme - As from April 2024 if a child turns 2 before 31st March 2024 all working parents will be able to access 15hrs of Funded Childcare.  You can put your child's name down onto our waiting list ready for when your funding starts.

Fees are charged at £15.00 per session of 3 hours ( April 2022prices)

Session times;-

Mornings  8.45am - 11.45 am (3 hours)

Lunch session 11.45 am - 12.15pm (0.5 hours)


Afternoons 12.15 pm - 3.15 pm ( 3 Hours)

Monday - Thursday

No session on Friday afternoon.

Lunch time - Monday - Friday

11.45 am - 12.15 pm.  £4.00 per child to cover child care costs.

Children bring a packed lunch.

You can attend a morning or afternoon session or stay all day from 8.45 am - 3.15 pm. You can claim your free 15 hours government funded places and pay the additional costs if you wish to stay longer. You can also claim your 30 hours free funded places during the morning and afternoon sessions and pay for the lunch times  Monday - Friday @ £4.00 per session.

Free places

A government grant funds free nursery education sessions for children from the start of the term, after a child’s third birthday.

Children aged three (plus) and four are entitled to five, three hour sessions a week (15 hours total) during term time only.

At West Street Pre-school we provide these 15 hours via Monday to Friday 8.45am – 11.45pm.(Monday -Friday)

and 12.15 pm - 3.15 pm.(Monday - Thursday)

West Street Pre-school is committed to working in partnership with other settings, if necessary, to provide a 'Blended Offer' re the governments 30 hour childcare (2017). Ask staff for more details.

Free places

Government funding administered by N.C.C. provides places for children within the county. Our pre-school provides child care placements for families who meet the criteria and have a code letter to prove it.

Families can have up to 15 hours free childcare per week; term time only; if they meet the criteria set by the government (If the family is entitled to free school meals is one criterion).

This can be anytime from the term after their second birthday up to their 3rd birthday. These 15 hours can be taken within five 3 hour sessions each week Monday to Friday 8.45am – 11.45 am. Or Monday to Thursday 12.15 pm - 3.15 pm

Or all day times if required for the 15 hours, when we are open.
